Finnish education

Research based

Our curriculum is continuously updated based on new findings in educational research.

The HEI schools curriculum from Finland that we implement is based on the latest in educational research and developed in collaboration with the University of Helsinki. New findings are incorporated into our curriculum immediately.

Child centered

Experienced teachers focus on each child’s strengths, creating more enthusiastic learners.

Children are unique individuals and learn at their own pace. We look out for their physical and emotional wellbeing by recognizing their own thoughts, ideas, and needs.

Through building a sense of community, children learn the social-emotional skills necessary to express themselves and interact with others.

Teachers observe each child to gather clues and guide their learning. Since each child learns differently, teachers will provide the support and strategies that work for everyone.

Play based

Through fun and engaging activities in different learning environments, along with the nurturing guide of their teachers, children build their knowledge and skills across all areas of learning.

Teachers use detailed lesson plans with the objective of addressing all developmental areas and reaching all age-appropriate milestones. As active participants, they seek to enrich and expand the learning experience of our students.

Play-based learning motivates children and helps develop social, language, and even numeracy skills. Taking initiative, focused attention, and curiosity about the world are all a part of play.

Playing is the most natural way to learn since it improves cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. When people play, they are engaged, relaxed, and challenged; states of mind highly conducive to learning. Through play, children learn about the world and themselves.

English as second language

The best way to learn a new language is by total immersion. All our teachers teach in English, allowing your child to 'live the English language'.

At Munay, your child will be surrounded by the English language. They will learn English in the same auditory way they learn their native language. The earlier a child learns a language in this fashion, the more likely they are to have better pronunciation.

Far from creating confusion in the learner, linguistic researchers at Cornell University discovered just the opposite – teaching a young child how to speak a second language is good for their mind. Studies now show that children who learn a second language can maintain attention despite outside stimuli better than children who know only one language. This ability leads to more cognitive advantages for the child, which can lead to a more successful academic future.

Children who pick up a second language while they are still young appear to use the same innate language-learning strategies throughout life when learning other languages. Picking up third, fourth, or even more languages becomes easier than picking up a second.
